These concepts are presented through the use of essential gaming concepts such as graphics, sound files, collision detection and response, score keeping and timers. A control group (used Visual Basic.Net) and the treatment group (used Flash) were taught the same concepts. Findings from this study are included in the book. This work also includes a detailed literature review on several aspects of gaming and issues realted to teaching introductory computer science concepts and suggests that game programming may be a good course to introduce students to computer science!« less
