Another outstanding account of the secret war waged against the enemy. In this account, myths are demolished and reputations are sometimes destroyed as the real reasons for the enemy's defeat are revealed. Numerous generals from these Wars, on all sides, aren't quite the geniuses they pretended to be, as they were reading the others side's mail. Also, hoaxes played a major part in the 'lucky' circumstances that ensured victory.

I have a number of books on this subject and this one is quite good. I especially enjoyed some of the trivia the author reveals which I never knew. Just as an example, Leslie Howard, that most English of Englishmen, was actually 1/2 Hungarian!
