Please, please, please, make sure that books in your deals are ALL within posting guidelines. Unless your deal is request a book and get this unpostable, your books should be in book trading condtion. Just because its in the Bazaar, doesn't mean you can pawn it off on folks. The Book Bazaar is a great place to get rid of unpostable books, but only in an unpostable book deal!! I have recieved a few emails this month with folks mentioning they received unpostable books in a deal. Thats wrong. If your books are listed onsite, they should all be postable. Please take a peek at the books you have on your shelf and make sure they are postable. Delete the ones you don't think would be. I know I'm going to be checking mine later today. I really would hate to see folks stop using the Bazaar because of a few who are breaking the PBS guidelines. Your books should not be scribbled all over by your child, cat, husband, grandmother, etc
These are all rules that go across the stie. The only way someone should get a book in unpostable condition is if its mentioned in a deal! If you have requestor condtions, then use the requestor condtion feature, please. f you don't want books from a smoking home ex library books books from an animal home books that have never faced north in the springtime, whatever they are. *lol* If you don't have a requestor condtions in place and get a book you don't want, nothing can be done. Thats why we have requestor condtions People offering deals DO NOT have to tell you in a post its coming from a somking home and so on. Its nice when they do, but they don't have to do that. So if there are books that you don't want, you need to have condtions in place for that. :) So there we go. I'm sure I will have another reminder type thing as times goes on. But this seems to be a big issue lately. I'm hoping to nip it in the bud. I don't want a few to spoil it for all. Thanks everyone for keeping the Book Bazaar a postive place. Thank you for the reminder, for I received a book with several water damaged pages - could read but when posted, I asked the person ordering if that was OK. I like to ask if there are any problems and am always glad to refund a credit or cancel the request. Thank you for helping us to keep this a friendly place to adopt books and fill wishes. Marla, your note said it "just right." Frances |

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! thank you bernie for the reminder. I have only been on paperbackswap a month and have already gotten two books with food and water damage. I have become discouraged and have contimplated quitting. I updated my requestors conditions, and I still received a book that should not have been posted. This site is fun, and addictive, but it shouldnt be a place to dump your unpostable books for credits! I'm still trying to have fun........... |

Yes thanks for the reminder Bernie! I just received a book yesterday that had a HUGE coffee stain on the back cover. It was part of a deal so I didn't complain, but it was the book I ordered so should have been postable. I've received ALOT of unpostable books as part of deals. They were all posted on their shelves so should all be postable. It is such a disappointent to open the package and see crappy books. Ada Last Edited on: 8/30/08 1:27 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thank you Bernie for the reminder of the different rules that is posted in the rules. I have received books that are scribbled in, and books that are watered damaged that should never have been sent, unless the person stated it has been damaged and the person is willing to accept the damaged book. |

I received a book once that had quite a bit of damage to the spine and pages that were together, but when I got the package I saw the cover and thought it looked fine, so I posted that it was great...only to open it from the plastic and discover differently. This was not a damaged book either, it was for a credit, I do believe. But I figured that I'd received so many good ones that I chose not to say anything. Besides I'd already said it was in great condition. Thank you, though, Bernie, for posting this! :) I think that it's a great thing to do! :) I hate even mentioning about this, but since I saw it I responded to what I did find once - Every other book I've received has been good so I'm not complaining at all. I love PBS and the people I've met here! :)
