Hilarious! But then, it's Hart and Kaufmann, isn't it. I first read this play when in high school during the early 1950s. Over 50 years later, I got the same pleasure from reading it again. If you appreciate biting sarcasm, this is a play for you. When Newton Fuller, a rather bland big city businessman, buys his dream house in the country he gets more than he bargained for. Or, is it less? Most of the humor is provided by his wife, Annabelle, who leaves no one unscathed, particularly Mr. Kimber, the handyman and country bumpkin. I wonder if this was the foundation for "Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House?" On second thought, "Green Acres" had many of the same elements of farce and similar leading characters.

A hilarious play by the authors of "You Can't Take It With You" about a family who buys a dilapidated old house, only to have it literally fall apart around them. So funny!
