Take this book for what it is - and English translation of a basic cookbook for German housewives - and it is a treasure. Everything from lost (poached) eggs to Rum Cake. Here's a further sampling of recipes (all with English and German titles): Hungarian Codfish;Polish Veal Roast; Cheese Spatzle (dumplings); Bolivian Salad (although why this tasty potato salad is Bolivian I don't know); Ham Pie; Oporto Onions; Cherry Pancakes; and many, many more.
