Wolfgang Kohler:
Professor Emeritus of Swarthmore College, from which he received an honorary doctorate in 1959, and Visiting Professor of Psychology at Dartmouth College, Wolfgang Kohler left Germany in 1935 when Nazis began it interfere with his research. As a student he invented a procedure by which the vibrations of the living eardrum can be registered. A few years later, he began his investigations of anthropoid apes, the results of which he described in The Mentality of Apes. He is also the author of "The Place of Value in a World of Facts" & "Dynamics in Psychology." The revised edition of Gestalt Psychology, his best known work, was published in hardcover from by Liveright Publishing Corporation.« less
