OK so I used the Sahmain coupon for a free ebook.  I have a kindle and I only saw an option for Mobi/Kindle.  No problem, I had the Mobi softwhere on my computer.  It tells me it's sending the book to my Kindle but it's not actually on my Kindle.  I can't see anywhere to email it to my Kindle.

Wish I could help, but I have more problems with my kindle then I can handle. LOL.   With the kindle you have to e mail a book from somewhere other then amazon to you kindle. With my nook I just plug it in click and wham it is there ready to read  I love my nook LOL.

I only got the kindle for the free books they offer. They do have a ton of good free books.

Which kindle do you have, and what Mobi software?

Have you tried sorting by "recent" to see if it sorts to the top?

Samhain has some instructions Here...

Kindle

Mobipocket .prc file is your file for the Kindle. All you have to do is plug in your Kindle to your computer, open the Kindle folder/drive, open the Document folder within, and then drag –n- drop your .prc ebook in. Once you’re done moving files onto your Kindle, eject the Kindle and unplug. Your books will appear in the list of titles as if you had purchased it through the Whispernet.

If you don’t want to plug in, you can email the .prc file to the email address assigned to your Kindle. Amazon charges a nominal fee for this service. You do have to make sure you gave permission within Amazon to receive files from the email address you are sending.

I didn't doing any dragging.  I did plug it in and ask it to send it to the Kindle which is said it did and yes I had it sorted by Most Recent First.  I even switched it sorth by title and it wasn't there.

What program are you asking to move the file?

I usually use Calibre, but do the 'drag and drop' stuff too. Mainly on the Sony's.

I side load everything from my computer through Calibre onto my Kindle. Even when I get stuff from Amazon I choose the option to DL to computer and transfer via USB to Kindle.  If you set Calibre up right; files with something other than a mobi tag, can be automatically converted when you add them to Calibre.

Did you check in your archive?  Non-Amazon stuff that I get always winds up in my archive.

Hmm. I just replaced my kindle and I don't really want to have it send all the archived stuff.  I kind of like that I only have 100 or so on it now and not 500+.  But maybe it'll show up under title on my Manage Kindle page and send it from there.  I didn't think to do that.

You don't have to send it all to the Kindle. I usually use Kindle4PC, and just send certain items to the Kindle. (For example, right now it only has Sherlock Holmes stories on it.)

If you need to do a search for a certain book in "Manage My Kindle", make sure to let it load all the books first, then search. Otherwise it'll tell you it can't find the book, when the book really is in there.
