When I added books I initially got a good response and mailed off 6-7.  Now it seems like noone peruses these books.  Is there anyway to bring the books on my shelf back to attention or is it now only hit or miss when someone scans titles?

You can always advertise your shelf in the Book Bazaar section.  Actually, you have a smaller bookshelf, you can add to it by going to A friends of Library book sale, or pick more up at yard sales.  Also, you can pull up your books, then click to add it to your Reminder list.  Then go into your reminder list and it will tell you how many copies of that particular book are in the system.  If the number is low, it's just a matter of time until it's requested.

Once the book orders slowed down on my bookshelf, I started adding/buying mainly wishlisted books.  If I need another credit, I post a WL book and it will be requested right away.

The first set of books were books people were wishing for that wernt in the system. Books go in the FIFO line.(First In, First Out) so the other books you posted went to the back of the line. for example say there are already 49 copies in the system, you book is #50, so the book has to be requested 49 times before it gets to your book.

If you would like to do a deal, post in the book bazaar, do a 2 for one, 3 for one or whatever you feel comfortable with. the buyer requests one book directly off your shelf then you send them some books of their choice for free. It does help move books

Also, if you put a note about your bookshelf in your signature, and you post on the forums, it may generate interest from people that see it and get them to look and maybe place an order.

And I agree with the above posts that adding additional books to your bookshelf will generate more interest, because many members check out the bookshelves of members when they are looking at the books posted today - if a new posting catches their interest, they often click to look at the rest of the member's bookshelf.

And Book Bazaar is ALWAYS a place to post and look for deals, or to let people know you have a specific type/genre/specialty bookshelf.

The other thing I did was join BoB... since I joined that, my bookshelf has seen alot more movement.  Several of the other boxers didn't necessarily have the credits for my books.  The other thing I found is that is a much smaller list and say you type in an authors name, it will give you a list of the actual member and thier entire bookshelf so that you look for others you might be interested in.

I second the suggestion to go ahead and buy ( used or new) a few newer titles that have wish lists. This way you know when you post it you will have a request. This is all a site of supply and demand.

I would be a little more patient. You have only been a member for a short time. I added the 1st three books on your shelf to my reminder list and the 1st and 3rd only have a few copies in the systerm so it will probably not be long before they are ordered. Unless you are in a hurry to receive credits, I would wait a while. Otherwise like others said, offer a deal in the Book Bazaar.
