I loved this book as a kid, and my kids have really enjoyed it. This is a duplicate copy of it that I got in another box of books... we're not about to trade away ours!

From the cover:

One day, Mrs. Hartlye gets a new pupil. From the moment Wilbur the ghost floats through the door, things begin to happen. WIlbur doesn't mean to make trouble, but suddenly books rise in the air, pencils write by themselves and mysterious voices answer the teacher.

Wilbur can't understand why everyone's upset. He just loves going to school. It's much more fun then handing around home scaring the neighbors. When Mrs. Hartley finds out what a poor speller Wilbur is, she decides he belongs in school. But he has to promise not to keep disappearing. If the principal finds out there's a ghost in Mrs. Hartley's class, Wilbur will have to leave.
