I felt this book was absolutely beautiful. It moved me to tears with the memories of the author's Dad that were surfaced. A look at his own mortality. I had similar memories and have looked at my life, but have never wondered about the pictures that will be remembered.

FROM THE COVER:
THE GIFT OF REMEMBRANCE is Ken Gire's nostalgic walk back through his childhood, as he reflects ont he scattered pictures of growing up with his father. The final picture is at his father's gravesite, where the author is faced with the sobering reflections of his own mortality and his role as a father. The author concludes that the picture he is leaving behind for his four children communicate far more than his words ever could.

Written in lyrical prose, this gift book is a sensitive scrapbook of the author's most enduring memories of his father. As you leave through the book, pictures of your own father will come to mind through its pages. And if all you have is a handful of pleasant pictures, you will find that within them is a certain redemption -- and that is the gift that remembrance has to offer.
