When I started this book, I was quickly discouraged because the writing seemed so very simplistic, but just about the time I was ready to throw the book down in disgust, the storyline really took off...suddenly, I didn't want to put the book down at all! It was now an involving read. Some of the plot devices were a bit of a stretch, but overall I am glad that I stuck with this book and if you enjoy tales of the British homefront during WWII, you might enjoy it too.
