"Women aren't welcome at Dane's Dyke," the inscrutable Thor Halden told Raine; nevertheless circumstances forced him to take her under his roof and to persuade her to masquerade as his wife for a time.

Even before she found herself falling in love with him, it was a difficult situation for Raine. Would she ever be able to make him trust her.

M Rome's bks have a often have a brooding hero and a sweet, sensitive heroine, as does this bk. The heroine also has amnesia for most of the bk as well.
