Maybe in Hidden Gems somewhere, but the 3 book series Girl with Dragon Tattoo/ Girl Who Played with Fire/ and Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest are a suspensful, face paced, very engaging series that should be considered - and I'm a romance novel reader that strayed and couldn't put down this series.  Have the foreign films coming on Netflix and can't wait for the American film release this December.

Agree 100%.  I loved them all and wish the fourth one would be released at whatever stage of completeness its in.  I also loved the Swedish film versions, mostly for the actress who played Salander.  I'm dreading that the US version won't hold a candle to them.

I am reading the third book right now.  The thing about these books that I find interesting is the wide appeal they have.  My button-up Mom loved them, my 72-year-old Father who hardly reads anything couldn't put them down.  I have liked them quite a bit, I don't know that I would say I loved them.  I am appreciating the third book for the vivid characters, even the most minor character is well drawn.

I loved this series!!  I just watched Dragon Tattoo on Sunday on Netflix (on my TV) and started watching the second one but have been tired to read the subtitles but will get to it this week..

It is just an awesome series.

I have the first two books of the series and I'm waiting for the third to come up on my wish list so I can order it and start reading them! (So if anyone wants to post it directly to my wish list, I won't complain. ;-)

IF you rent the DVD like from Redbox you can turn on the English voice over and not do subtitles - not sure if this works with download able Netflix.

I did not read the books but I did watch the movies and loved the storyline.  They are not the types of things I'd wish to read as my mind would make it so much worse then what it is meant to be.  Though I doubt they'd make the 4th book into a movie so would need to read or listen to that IF it ever gets put out.

I've had people love the book and people hate the book. It's one of the few books I've had people call me (I work in a library) and tell me how horrible the book is and wish they'd not read it. Note that they hated the storyline and not the writing itself.

Excellent series--not sure I could read the fourth if it is ever released. I heard somewhere that there are drafts/outlines of several other books. I think it would be somewhat of a shame to publish them under his name, coauthored by someone else when, in fact, it will be totally written by someone else.
