So... I've been PBSing for quite a while and this is a first for me. A book of mine was requested, and then the request was canceled about 20 minutes later. I must have been on the computer at the time, because in between the request and cancellation, I got the email and printed the label. I mailed the book out right away... And now I looked and saw the cancellation! I searched my email and find nothing about this cancellation. So the requestor is getting a book for free, which is not a HUGE deal, but I'm just wondering how this happened??

I didn't think the requester could cancel an order once the wrapper was printed. |

Rebekah, where did you see the cancellation? Edited to add: If you saw the cancellation in your transaction archive, it was probably a prior cancellation for the same book. Look on your account page to see if the book is still there. Last Edited on: 11/19/09 11:32 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I've had this happen, and it's scary, but they actually didn't cancel the order. What happened was that they accidently ordered the book twice, and then canceled the duplicate order. You think they've canceled the order and don't hear anything from PBS, but if you contact them, you find that they canceled a duplicate order and still want the book. Have you contacted the requester? It is possible that this is what happened. You just never get anything when it does. Good luck. Pat |

It is not possible for the requester to cancel it after you printed the label. The only way the transaction is cancelled is if you miss the mail by date, you hit the cancel button, or the system glitches. Is it still in your Books I've Mailed tab? Are you just seeing an email that says its been cancelled? Usually the emails and Transaction Archive show obsolete transactions with older time stamps that just confuse things. Don't go by them, go by your active Tabs on your main screen, they tell you want is current on your account. If you marked the book mailed and it is not on a current tab, then send in Feedback using the Contact Us link below and ask them to look at what happened. |

If the request was canceled 20 minutes after she made it, then you never got notified of that request at all, and it never appeared on your My Account page. All requests go into a 1-hour buyer's remorse period, even if they're wish list auto-requests, and the sender cannot respond until after that time. The request you accepted was a different request. Look on your My Account page for active requests. |
