Welcome to a new year for Flan. After a fall semester at Stuy, Flan has finally realized that the private school setting is where she belongs. She feels far more comfortable around the girls that she went to Miss Mallard's with. So, with the winter break over, Flan begins classes at Thoney.

Thankfully, she has made up with her lost best friend, Camille, when they were both on Thanksgiving break on Nevis. So Flan has a friendly face as she enters the halls of her mother and sister's alma matter. She needs a good friend because her nemesis, Kennedy, is the ruling queen of the class.

Flan easily fits into life at Thoney, and Camille's friends readily accept Flan as one of their own. The first day of school doesn't go perfectly for Flan, but she knows that Thoney is where she truly fits in. After classes the first day, the girls meet up for pizza with a group of guys from the brother school, Dalton. All the faces are familiar, many of them having spent Thanksgiving in Nevis as well. Flan is pleased to see TZ there, but also, surprisingly, Alex.

ALL THAT GLITTERS is a fast-paced jaunt through Flan's first two weeks at Thoney. There are squabbles with Kennedy and Willa, her sidekick. There's a competition to host Virgil. There's always SBB to keep calm and relaxed. There's a fashion show that Flan's agreed to model in. And the gossip. You can expect lots of gossip in ALL THAT GLITTERS, like the rest of J. Minter's works.

For a look into the privileged lives of New York City kids, pick up ALL THAT GLITTERS and the rest of the INSIDE GIRL novels. You'll see how the other half lives. And you can't help but love the life Flan leads.
