In this book, Sister Mary Rose McGeady, a nun who works at Covenant House (a shelter system that helps runaway children and teenagers who are out on the street) tells the stories of some of the teens who have come to her shelters for help. The stories are moving and powerful, and you get a real feel for the suffering and desperation of the children, as well as their courage and will to survive. It is a powerful book. Not a long book, but it has a great emotional impact.
