I have a minor complaint. Recently (as in yesterday), I read a thread in the Book Bazaar about someone getting rid of their credits. They put in their thread that they had multiple credits to get rid of and to PM and email them about it. I PMd that I'd like a couple of they were getting rid of them. I was responded by the person saying they meant to put in their original post that they were selling them for $2.00 each - I looked back and there was nothing in the thread what-so-ever that specified a deal. I wonder now if this is allowed per rules. I've had this happen before with books - I understood because the person was new and didn't know that if you put you were giving them away they were free and she wanted credits for them. I just am a bit aggravated since this is the second time this sort of thing has happened. I have books on my shelf to obtain credits, but when I see something like this I'm thinking they are getting rid of them as they said in the thread. I feel that I should have been given the 2 credits since I replied first. Am I wrong? Last Edited on: 8/31/08 9:13 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

I would guess that the poster just thought anyone who responded would assume there was some kind of cost. Generally, people don't post that they are giving away credits for free - if they were, they'd definitely say they were free. I'm sorry you feel misled, but honestly, I don't think the person did anything wrong or misleading. |

Okay, I was just wondering! The thread said that he was getting rid of them and would give them away, so I thought they were freebies. But I appreciate your response! :) |

And $2 is a great price for credits if you choose to buy them. The going price is usually somewhere between $2.90 and $3 on the Bazaar. |

It's not a big deal, the wording on the post was confusing - I agree that $2 is a great deal, however, the poster did not post this in his deal - he left it as "hey so i have about 20 credits that i want to get rid of....anyone want them?? you can message me at my account.....fixlerh@kean.edu. thank you!!!". With the post heading of "credits" which was very misleading to me...and to others as well. |

"hey so i have about 20 credits that i want to get rid of....anyone want them?? you can message me at my account.....fixlerh@kean.edu. thank you!!!". With that message I wouldn't automatically jump to the conclusion that they were free because it just doesn't really sound that way to me...I would have contacted and asked for specifics. |

I dunno...I think it sounds pretty free to me. |

I would never assume credits were "free" unless someone actually used the words free. Same thing with books. |

I would assume there is a cost..and would PM to ask how much. |

Thanks guys for your feedback to my question! I appreciate it all greatly! :) |

They looked free to me! The only reason I didn't ask about them is that the post had been there awhile before I saw it. I'd never seen a thread where they offered credits for sale and said "get rid of" and didn't mention they were for sale. |

Angela, I know you already got your response, I just wanted to say I think it's all what the words say to you. (I've re-written that a couple times and am not completely sure I'm clear. :-p) It's just we don't all "see" things the same way, even though we are reading the same words. I did see that post, actually, and never assumed they were free, but I see some people did. While I do not think this person did anything wrong or misleading, I certainly think that post could have been a lot more clear. ;-) Last Edited on: 8/31/08 11:48 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
