My hubby, kids and I are going to the fair today. I told Megan that is school today:)

Our fair website has all sorts of lesson plans they have linked related to fair subjects, animals, food, crafts, etc. pretty cool. I was going to print some stuff to take with us, but don't really want to carry all that paper around so I think we will work on some of that when we get home or do it tomorrow.

Should be a fun day!

I think we spent more time in the livestock barns than anything else. We learned several things there. I even learned that a female goat can grow a beard! I had no idea!

The freedom that homeschoolers have just rocks, doesn't it?

Last week we had a GREAT homeschooling day.  We went to eat at a Native American place we heard of on a food network show  called Spirits on the Water in Asheville.   Then we toured a cave in the side of humpback mountain - that was really neat, because you could see the fault line in the cave!  We went to Grandfather Mountain and saw several animals in their natural habitat, went to the nature museum, and then my son played on the swinging suspension bridge there.  (That bridge scared the crap outta me!)

It was such an awesome day.  I am glad we didn't have to spend it in a classroom!
