I decided I want to start knitting, and silly me, thought all you needed was yarn and a couple of needles lol. I went to the library and found an awesome book and thought I could just jump right in. I have some cheap yarn and a pair of needles (somewhere, I think my house ate them with all the missing single socks lol) but that's it. If you have any of the fallowing items you no longer need, I would really appreciate them :) Needles - any size Yarn - any size, any color Stitch and Needle Gauge Point Protectors Row Counter Tapestry Needles Stitch Holders Stitch Markers Pompom Makers Crochet Hook Bobbins PMs with advice would be greatly appreciated I'm going to try and get to the store for some of the items next weekend, but thought maybe I could get 1 or 2 of the items here. Thanks! Last Edited on: 9/16/10 1:47 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

If you're just starting out, you really only need needles and yarn for something like a scarf. And a ruler or tape measure for your guage, which I'm sure you already have. When you decide you want to continue, then all those other things will come in handy. But maybe make sure you really do enjoy knitting before investing in these supplies? Hope you do find you enjoy it, though. I do! Good luck. |

Thanks Kim :) I went and bought some yarn and the size needles a scarf pattern I have called for. I thought because the book said I needed all these things from the start, I wouldn't be able to do anything w/o them lol. Thank you everybody from all the PMs! They are worth more then anything else on the list. I so grateful so many of you have offered to take your time and answer questions. You have also supplied me with some great sites. I really thank all of you! |
