A very liberated husband and wife who are descendants of
Long Island's first settlers, rub shoulders and bodies
with each other and their Mafioso crime boss neighbor. They
are no match for the street wise gangster. Unlike this book,
which is original and funny, the sequel (The Gate House) is not.

Different from the rest of DeMille's books, but I really enjoyed reading it.

John Sutter, upper class WASP attorney becomes involved with Frank Bellarosa, kingpin of the NY Mafia family when Frank moves into the palatial home next door to the Sutter's. Long but was very informative regarding the famed "Gold Coast" (the North Shore of Long Island)....Some LOL dialog...

Great story. Demille has a way to make you laugh out loud as you read. The follow up The Gate House might even be better in some ways to be sure to follow up. I love Scott Brick on this audio.
