A great memoir set in Hong Kong of the not so long ago. My father worked in Hong Kong for 7 years in the late 1990s to early 2000s, so I have great familiarity with the place. Martin Booth manages to capture all the hustle bustle, chaos, modern v. ancient energy that is Hong Kong. Although he lived in HK of the 1950s, I could still relate to much of what he wrote. I loved this book. I shared it with my mother who also lived in HK for several years and she liked reading it too.
