This is my favorite romance novel and one of my favorite books. I love the mining boom-town setting. I love Kate and her wit, strength and courage. I love Justin because he needs Kate so much but doesn't realize it. I love how it's a mix of sweet romance but still has a few sexy details.

This was the second romance novel I'd ever read. The first one I couldn't finish - it was about some Native American girl named Spirit of the Mountain, and they NEVER shortened her name. ugh. So Golden Dreams became the first romance I read all the way through and I thought it was perfect. Hundreds of romance novels later, it's still my favorite.

I tend to gush when I review books I really like, so I'll try to stop. But I highly recommend this to anyone who likes spunky females, Western romances without the cowboys, and an over all great story. I highly applaud Ms. DeForest's first work.
