I have a book on my wishlist and the other day it came up. yeah! seems like the person accepted it too but then i got an email from here saying they had contacted the sender and gotten no response so returned my credit and put it back on the wishlist...well yesterday it was offered again so I looked and sure enough, it's the same person! does this happen automatically and will keep happening? what if 3 more are entered in the system while I wait and wait and wait?? ok, i'm sure thre aren't that many being posted but i"m wondering if it's gonna do the long wait again...

I went through the same thing and it took 3 times before she finally accepted the order and mailed the book.

You could send her a polite pm and ask why she is reposting the book and canceling. Some people when they are new think they are supposed to post alllll their books including the ones they wanna keep. Usually when they are WLed they dont realize they are making a mistake to cancel it.

If she does not respond to a request in five days, or if she clicks I Cannot Mail, then the book is removed from her shelf. So the only way you can get the book offered again from her is if she reposts it to her shelf.

Cathy, it looks like this person DID repost it to their shelf.

I would also suggest a P.M. to just say you are really excited about the book and see what they say.

If they accept and cancel again, write to R&R and ask them to look into it.

i have to confess:  I have probably done that once or twice: for this reason:

Someone asks for a book.  I know I have it, but I CANNOT FIND IT.  So I tell them, sorry I cannot mail it.  I lost it or lent it out or whatever.

I do NOT have the messiest house in the world, I promise, but I do have a lot of PHYSICAL book shelves, I am 65, in bad physical shape, and I sometimes miss a book  that is in the bottom shelf.

A few days later, with better light, of whatever I FIND THE BOOK!!!   YEAH!!  I either write to the person who asked for it (once the person had already gotten it from someone else and another time they said :  "yippy do send it".   So there could be multiple reasons for what happened to you.

One of the suggestions I like the best is " Be polite, whatever the person did that bugs you was probably not done on purpose".

We all get paranoid, but it sure is nice to be reminded to be NICE.
