Good Hearts is a much better book than A Long and Happy Life, in my opinion. It says so much about the ups and downs of long-term marriage and has a satisfying ending. However, the rapist as a major character, and his actions in the last part of the book, were disturbing and creepy. I felt it detracted from the book.
