Let me start by saying that I'm a pretty smart mark, I've probably read a dozen, maybe fifteen wrestlers autobiographies. Jerry Lawlers was one of the better ones, it follows the typical trend of his youth in the beginning, how he got into the business, complete with all the names from his start and entertaining road stories leading all the way to his time in wwe. Self critical, funny, and seemingly very honest throughout, an overall very entertaining read. There was surprisingly more Memphis stories than wwe stuff. Not to say it's not interesting, there is great detail in his Andy Kauffman stories but hardly any wrestlemania moments or Montreal screwjob recollections. The last few chapters actually drag a bit when he breaks his focus from wrestling to more personal subject matter, but after hearing the story of his life up until that point he finishes by sincerely opening up at a vulnerable point in his career and life. It's worth your time.

I love wrestling and I really enjoy reading wrestling auto/biographies. Jerry's book is a great look back at his career and the stories of his upstart in the business are interesting and really humorous at times. A fun read, and a great read for all wrestling fans.
