This may sound random but sometimes the people who use this site perk me up with the niceness, lol. Every time I've seen someone ask to borrow a credit someone comes through and lends it, it's not uncommon to see people offer unpostables totally free, and I know some of the people who send a lot of books out have to be taking a hit monetarily and that's pretty damn decent of them. One member who had a book she knew I was looking for sent me a damaged copy free and I just got a book in the mail that I had buddied someone a credit for, an unpostable, that she could have probably got away with not sending because it wasn't an official transaction but she mailed it (in good time!) and it was nicely wrapped and everything. Considering what a cesspool the Internet can be it's sometimes remarkable to me how smoothly transactions largely run on goodwill and hoping for the best go on here, lol.

And that is my random observation of the day ^ _ ^

I have made some good friends here, in addition to having 98% of my transactions be perfectly smooth, timely and accurate. PBS is a good place to be, that's for sure!

Yes there are quite a few good people on here and they give great advice too.  I've recieved kindness from some members to get books for my Dad when he was in hospital. He loves a certain author and I was able to get a number of the books for him and send it flat rate to him. He was rather touched by strangers helping him out in that way. (he is usually THE person to help others and never really the reciever).

Yup, I'm not surprised to hear that a lot of people on here did that for your dad xengab - maybe it's something about people who like to read being nicer than the rest of the popluation on average lol. Although I suppose I might be a leeeetle bit biased! I've had a couple bad transactions and I've definitely seen some wild ones talked about on here but overwhelmingly there seems to be a lot of nice people on here.
