I adore anything about England, history and myth and legend. I have always found the notion that Prince Eddy was Jack the Ripper and the monarchy had him murdered to save the crown a great notion and has brought about quite a bit of speculation. This puts a new theory on Prince Eddy's death. Historically he truly was an idiot and could not have governed. I found this premise quite interesting and I enjoyed the research put into this novel. Why I gave it only two and a half stars is the prose was deadly dull. This should have been a ripping good yarn and I was frankly bored to death. I scanned a good portion of the book and I truly kept hoping it would get better. The last third of the book was truly worth reading. Beware, you'll have to wade through to get to the good parts.
