We don't have a Goodwill near our home but I was driving home from my parent's house last Saturday and we drove a by a Goodwill store and noticed the sign said "most items 50% off". I stopped and discovered that the last Saturday of every month they have 50% off all clothes, housewares, shoes, handbags, books (!). etc. There were a few items that were not included in the sale, Halloween stuff, new items, etc. but most of the store was 50% off! My daughter found 7 tops for fall and winter (long sleeve t's and sweaters) and they each ended up being $2 apiece and I found 3 books, 2 for the kids and one for me and my total was $15 and some change. A great deal!

I will have to find out if it is that way near me. Definitely a good deal.

A lot of thrift stores around my area do this.

Ex: on Sunday a certain color tag will be 5 for 1.00.

I will buy clothes for my kids for the following  year.

Some thrift stores have a little flyer for each month about the sales.

You can find nice things if you shop out of season.

Our Goodwill stores are insanely priced. We picked up some books not to long ago, about 15 - 17 of them, most places they are 10 cents to 75 cents at that, when she got done ringing them up it came to $62.00 I walked off with out them!

My Goodwill stores price their books very high also.  I bought a HC copy of Da Vinci Code from Goodwill for $8.50.  Most of the MMPB goes for $2.49 and HC can be up to 50% of cover price.  I've never seen a 10 - 75 cents book at any of the Goodwill stores in my city.
