I enjoyed this mystery a lot! Gourd artist Lily Marino is settling into her new home in Walden Corners, New York (in the Hudson Valley). Her pleasant new life is rudely disrupted, though, when a rifle comes clattering down from her bathroom ceiling. When the rifle is identified as the weapon used to shoot town resident Marjorie Mellon, Lily finds herself suspected of murder. Good story of Lily and her friends looking for clues, with some information about gourd crafting added for good measure!

Nice follow up to her first book, Gourdmother. A bit slow, but entertaining.

Second in the Lili Marino, freelance PR writer and gourd artist cozy mystery. Set in upstate NY, where Lili has moved to get away from the hustle and bustle of big city life. She's beginning to settle in to her new life there when a woman is found murdered a short distance from her cottage--and worse yet, the killer has stashed the rifle in Lili's attic--until it falls onto her kitchen floor. The murdered woman was outspoken about her feelings about the hotly debated casino and she had a powerful personality and the organization skills to put together a strong campaign. Did someone on the opposing side silence her? Or was this personal? I figured out most of the mystery rather early on--the clues were just way too obvious--and like many cozy mystery heroines, Lili seems to have a smorgasbord of men to choose from and can't make up her mind who or what she wants. *sigh*

I am a "foodie series junkie" at times when i need a light murder read. This one fit the bill. It was interesting, of course you knew someone was going to be killed and it was fun waiting to find who did it. This read also gave me a good chuckle here and there and thats what is so fun about these quick read series, nothing to take to serious even if a rifle does fall out of your bathroom ceiling.

This one was even better than the first........these books are just a cut above the typical "cozy"........being a little more in depth and better written, without being outside the "cozy" range!
