Summary:
Grace is invited to a sleep over. She is super excited until she finds out that the sleep over will be outside. She's going to have to sleep in a tent. That's terrifying. Also, Grace has told Mimi about the ghost and Mimi wants to see it. When Grace finds herself too afraid to admit her feelings, she begins to lie. This ends up with Grace finding herself in more trouble than she anticipated. How will she possibly work everything out?

My thoughts:
I've been reading chapter books to my little girl for a good while. She is just beginning to read, but she enjoys the beginning chapter book stories when we sit down at bedtime. My favorites have been with slightly younger heroines, but Just Grace has good illustrations and pretty fun storylines. This installment is no different. While I did talk about the consequences of Grace's behavior with my daughter as we read and we talked about what other things Grace could have done, I think that the overall fear of sleeping outside is interesting for a young girl. Of course, my little one wants to do a sleepover outside now, but she is still too young to understand the pressure from friends to do certain things. She's still happily opinionated about everyone following exactly what she desires (I secretly hope it stays that way).
