The statement in the first edition that the book was " based on W. F. Moulton's edition of G. B. Winer's Grammar," claimed for it connexion with a work which for thirty-live years had been in constant use among New Testament students in this country and elsewhere. I should hardly have yielded this statement for excision, had not the suggestion come from one whose motives for retaining it are only less strong than my own.
