I have a copy of The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck that I just finished reading.  I recieved it here from PaperBackSwap, but when I got it, it had about a 1 inch tear on the back cover at the top where it attaches to the spine.  I was a little irritated when I recieved it but didn't think it was worth to make a big deal over it, no pages were falling out and in otherwise really good shape.  So I put a piece of clear packing tape which worked really well.  I read the book, I really enjoyed it, but don't intend to keep it or read it again.  However with the tape on it, I cannot post it.  It shouldn't have been posted in the first place, but I would not have minded giving a credit for the book as I really wanted to read it.  I just hope I can get my credit back, since that is the idea of this site.

The ISBN is 0-14-018640-9.   Althoug cover picture displayed on the site isn't what is actually on the book, it has a picture of the actor from the movie (...I think... never saw the movie).

PM if you are interested it getting this book for 1 credit or have a concern and I can email you a picture of the flaw, although you might now even be able to tell from a picture since I put the clear tape on.

Adam, tape does not make a book unpostable. It will not return an unpostable book to postable if the tear does not meet PBS's allowed limit. But if the tear is 1 inch or less, the book is postable even with the tape on it to keep the tear from getting worse.
