typical Cameron mix of archaeology and mystery (this time in Old England rather than New England!) with a touch of romance

I liked this book at lot, now I'm looking for the first in the series, to get me started right

I'm currently reading book 4 of the series, and so far, Grave Consequences is my least favorite. I think that partially has to do with it not taking place in New England, like the others I've read so far, but rather, in Great Britain. Being from New England myself, I like the familiarity of reading books that take place in a locale that is familiar to me, even though the names and places are fictiional, for the most part. That said, I did enjoy the book and have now bought all 6 in the series.

Emma Fielding spends her vacation in England helping friends excavate a twelfth-century Abbey. Unfortunatley the excavations uncover a all too mondern skelton in the dig.
Then a second body is discovered. It is the body of a missing student. Emma is once more off for an exciting adventure. Following the detective work, as well as enjoying the scene of the ancient abbey makes for a good read. Recommend.

This wasn't as good as I expected. The climax was, well, anticlimatic.

Emma is delightful and if you like archeology and foreign setting this ia a good one, as she is spending her summer in England.

Second in the series. From the back cover: "Archaeologist Emma Fielding is beginning to doubt the wisdom of spending her vacation in England helping friends excavate a 12th-century abbey, especially when they uncover an all-too-modern skeleton in a nearby medieval graveyard. But it's the second discovery--of a murdered graduate student recently missing from the dig--that suggests to Emma that Marchester isn't exactly the quiet riverside town it appears to be..."

Archaeologist Emma Fielding is beginning to doubt the wisdom of spending her summer vacation in England helping friends excavate a 12th-century abbey, especially after they uncover an all-too modern skeleton in the nearby medieval graveyard. But its the second discovery--of a murdered graduate student recently missing from the dig--that suggests to Emma that Marchester isnt exactly the quiet riverside town in appears to be. And when a member of the towns neopagan community shows up, claiming that the site is a sacred spot for Wiccans, Emma knows that conflicting interests and intentions may have driven someone to murder. There are dark passions and lethal secrets buried here, heinous crimes that shake the conflicted community to its core, and its up to Emma, an outsider far from home, to delve into a past that too many people--including her friends--would do anything to hide.
