Anybody looking for a truly fun novel, set in south central Florida---where there's still a lot of southern-ess saved between the coasts ---should get  "Mama Does Time" by Deborah Sharp.

It 's a paperback, out about six months ago, so it may be hard to find used. But put it on your lists. It's laugh-out-loud, and she really captures the characters and feel of a place many people don't know much about.

It's sort of a mystery, sort of like a much lighter, and funnier, Edna Buchanan. For a light, fun read this is one of the best I've seen in a long time.
