The Old Kingdom of Egypt lasted from about 2575 BCE to 2150 BCE. During those 400 years, Egypt had a strong central government and a prosperous economy. During this time period, the belief in life after death became entrenched and would change Egyptian history. This book talks about the rulers and the first continuous civilization in Egyptian history and their belief system.
It is interesting to learn how the study of Egyptology emerged and the fact that the pyramids were probably pillaged repeatedly before the Egyptologists started studying what was left.
It was also interesting to learn that there are multiple points of view of why the Pyramids were built. Space aliens seem a bit wild, but at least Hourly History tried to give a broad range of theories for the reader to ponder. The value of these hourly ebooks is that the reader can decide, after absorbing the information given, whether to study the subject in more depth. Bravo.
