For me this was an extremely convoluted story which seemed to have almost nothing to do with "The Great Revolt." That story took a distant second place to a series of killings which had nothing to do with the uprising. As for the solution to the killings, I am completely fuddled as to how Brother Athelstan figured it all out. In fact, I think the author was too, as he had Athelstan send someone out to a distant monastery to "secure some documents," which apparently revealed all.

As a result, about halfway through the book,I forced myself to sit down and read it as quickly as I could to finish it. Mostly, because I wanted to know what happened with the Revolt.

Sorry I can't post it here for a member wanting it, but I need to return it to the library.
