Enjoyed this read very much. While I do not believe in ghosts I often find stories featuring ghosts quite interesting. Our imagination plays creative games with us. So it is with this tale revolving around a greatcoat that belonged to an officer during WWII. Discovering the coat while searching for a blanket to keep her warm in the drafty flat she and her husband had rented, Isabel encounters the owner of the coat. She relives his life and romance with her landlady until he dies when his damaged plane crashes on returning to base.

The emotion Isabel encounters makes the minutes spent with Alec seem so real. Is she mad? She is very lonely with her husband off daily and often at night responding to the medical needs of the town residents. And, she finds the landlady a frightening individual that she avoids as much as dhe can. The tale spirals through the experiences of Alec and his beloved and Isabel finds herself becoming his lover. Interesting well written story
