I can relate to most of the cartoons in this book about raising toddlers, since I have two of my own. This book is a precursor to Johnston's award-winning "For Better Or For Worse," and you can see some of her early drawing skill that evolved eventually into that great strip. The one-panel cartoons and snappy one-liners are funny and close to home. Definitely not the "schmaltz" that hallmarked "FBOFW" through its run. I got this as a new parent and said, "Oh, this is stuff that happens to other people," and now I realize that I AM "other people"!
