Okay, I don't know why this happens but it seems there are an awful lot of non-Regency romances getting categorized under Regency. I'm not talking about historical romances because that would be understandable in a way, but contemporary romances getting the regency label.
I've submitted edits on each one I come across. It just always is a jolt when they come across my screen because right now I have my favorite genre to browse set to Regency and then there is a cover with a doctor in a white coat or a contemporary couple sprawled across a bed. |

I don't know how many are mislabeled here on PBS and how many are assigned genres/sub-genres by other sources (Amazon, Muze, etc.). It makes me crazy too. I don't even filter using genres anymore. I don't trust them to be accurate and complete. I frequenly find romantic suspense listed under literature > mystery/thrillers and recently, found an erotic romance listed on A'zon as a "boardbook." You know, like the kind you'd get for a toddler. The covers alone give a whole new meaning to the term "picture book." I don't think so. TY, Babs, for your efforts. I confess that I've all but given up getting the database fixed. |
