I started out thinking this was just a 3 maybe 4 star book, but the more I read, the more I loved it. It's why I love Kenyon so much. I read to escape, and with Kenyon I can fall into the story and forget about everything else around me. The characters become important and you find yourself hoping for the happy ending. Even though you know most likely they will get it, the path the story takes is impossible to skim through. Seth's vulnerability makes him an amazing character. How can someone suffer so much and still care about someone else. Lydia could be annoying at times, but she was the perfect balance to bring Seth back to life. Hell is not always what you think it is, it can be the Hell you live with in your head more than the torture you feel in the physical world. As the story developed, I am reminded of the Kenyon world as a whole, but can't remember Jayden's story. I know we have seen him before. We get a glimpse into the Egyptian Pantheon a little, and I hope we get to see more in the future. But as a whole, I really enjoyed this book, it reminded me of the old Dark Hunter books. Definitely a keeper!

It's a very typical Kenyon book with Seth having an extremely horrible past and Lydia having a tragic one. Lydia is really the strong one here as she brings Seth back to the land of the living. It was enjoyable and sweet and hard to put down. It also gave some good background on weres in relations to fates an mating.

It helps if you have read a few of Kenyon's Dark-Hunter / Dream-Hunter books first or you might be a bit confused here. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Dream Hunter series has not been my favorite books, and I fully intended to just skip this one. After the first five or so chapters, I couldn't put it down. There was very little down-time; this book kept me on my toes constantly. I really like Seth.He wasn't always 'manly' but always very brave, and I fell in love with Lydia. She's strong, brave, and alot of times funny. Five stars from me.

This was ok but not her best. Lydia and Seth's love story seemed rushed. I wanted to know more about Seth's story and his background. The book does talk about his backstory but not with enough detail. I love her books because she gives such rich and detail information about her characters and their background. I want to know more about Noir and why Jaden won't leave Noir's clutches.

I read all of S. Kenyon's books so far but have noticed an alarming trend in her stories lately, entirely too much sadism. I really disliked this book because of all the detailed description of gory torture. The only saving grace was Seth and Lydia's finally coming together but it was too little too late.

If you are into this sort of thing, this book is for you but if you enjoy paranormal romance skip this one. I am taking Sherrilyn off my automatic buy list and waiting to see what kind of story it is next time. I have most of her earlier books on my keeper shelf so I will read these again instead.

Seth is a Egyptian demigod, he father was Set. When he was 6 his father disowned him and his mother left him for dead. Until a group of jackal weres found him and nursed him back to heath, but turned around and sold him to Noir. Seth has been in Noirs hell for over 45 thousand years (if I remember correctly) but now he semi freed form punishment and was sent out to find 'The Key to Olympus' and kidnapped Solin (a demigod dream hunter) to find the key. While punishing Solin, Lydia (jackal & dream hunter) comes and rescues Solin (later your find out its actually her father that no one knows their relationship) but after Lydia shows up Solin will do anything to get Lydia released from the Guardian (Seth). Seth hold Lydia as prisoner but also takers her powers away. But he wants her to talk and hes talking her language- sign. So he gives her the power to talk but probably wishing he didnt. Anyways he comes to a realization that he is liking Lydia more then he should and is trusting her. But Lydia has a secret that would tear Seth to bits if he ever learns that she is a jackal and happens to be the granddaughter of the man that sold Seth to Noir. Seth has to regain his powers to defeat his enemies and come to the fact that his in love with a pure hearted women but has to kill her so she can live.

In this installment of the Dream Hunter Series, Dream Hunter Lydia goes to Asmodea or Hell to rescue her father Solin from the evil Noir, there she meets the Guardian, Seth. At the time Seth is torturing Solin to get the location of the key that will bring all of Olympus down. Seth sees how much Lydia means to Solin so he takes her instead and tells Solin to get the key or Lydia will die. Of course Seth never tortures Lydia and eventually they fall in love, but before that they have lots of fights and lots of blood goes flying. This was Kenyon's usual kick ass romance and as usual it was lots of fun to read.

I was really disappointed by this book. I thought the story was very predictable with very little development of relationship or character. The characters go from hating each other to loving each other in very little time with nothing really happening to explain the change or depth of feelings. Hope this is not indicative of what's to come from Kenyon. I'd rather see fewer books from her of better quality.
