Received a requested book couple weeks ago, hardcover with jacket, nice condition.  Until I just finished reading (or tried to) pages 167-170 are missing.   Nothing I can do about it now but toss it, correct?

Most certainly can't repost it.

Were they the last 3 pages of the book, or were they somewhere in the middle of it or elsewhere? I ask because most books I can figure out despite the loss of a few pages.  Of course if it was a cliff-hanger type where the author takes you right to end before all is revealed, then I can see how that would upset me.

I suppose you could offer it as part of a deal in the BB with an explanation of the problem.

Good Luck.

Can you tell if this is a publishing error or were the pages removed later?  Some publishers replace books with printing or assembly errors.

I had a book like that one time that I had for a long time before I discovered it.  So long I couldn't even be sure where or how I got it.  I send an email to the publisher telling them and they replied asking for my address so they could send a replacement copy of the book to me.  It was not a new publication either, but probably at least 2 or 3 years old, maybe more.  It's worth a try.

I was also told by someone that I might be able to just take it to B&N or someplace and they might replace it because they can receive credit for the one with the error.  I didn't try that so don't know if that's true or not.  Didn't feel quite right to me since, even though I couldn't remember where I got the book, I knew it didn't come from B&N originally.

I also received a book with about 30 pages missing.  I was told to try Amazon to see if I could read the pages there. I was able to read most of them, at least enough to get the gist of what was missing.  I did e-mail the sender, but never heard back from her.
