Parade Magazine said Katherine Heigl was recently signed by Columbia TriStar to play Stepanie Plum in a movie made from the Evanovich series  Evanovich liked her "pent up perpetual bridesmaid performance in 27 dresses". "When she let loose with the F-bomb, I knew she was perfect."

She does not work for me. I have read all of the S Plum books and I had S Plum envisioned as tough. From a bridesmaid movie to Plum?

So, Evanovich's only  requirement is  being able to use the "F bomb"? IMO, she is too pretty.

I imagined Debi Mazar in the role.  She recorded one of the earlier audio books, but I guess the author didn't like her performance.  I also imagine someone with a bit more street toughness to her.  But, hey, I am not a casting director, so what do I know?

I was thinking Sandra Bullock. But you know what? If the writer of the book thought Heigl would be best, who am I to quibble?!?!  I'm sure she's got a wide range of acting skills and can be tough as well as goofy. Hopefully.

I would rather have seen Bullock but I'm open. I'll see the movie since I'm a major fan of all the books!

I don't even know who Katherine Heigl is! LOL

Sandra Bullock is too old for the Plum role, I think. Isn't Stephanie supposed to be in her late 20's? Bullock *might* be able to pull off a role 10 years younger than her 45 years, but more than that would be really stretching it, I think.

Katherine Heigl is Izzy Stevens from Grey's Anatomy.  I'm not sure she is right for the role either.  But I will go see the movie anyway.

I can't see Katherine Heigl playing that role at all. Well they better get someone good of Ranger, Joe Morelli and Grandma Mazur.

I thought Sandra Bullock would be perfect also, but maybe her age would be a factor.

I would have never come up with Heigl.  I cannot even imagine her as Stephanie Plum.  But, I guess if she is a good actress, she might be able to pull it off.
