About 5 days ago I accepted a WL offer on a book, and its been sitting unresponded too since.  I clicked the "Order More From This Member" button and it says this member has no books in the system. He also has no profile, no WL books, no nothing, nada, zip, Fini!

So whatdaya think my chances are I'm going to see this book from this person?

Does it say how long that person has been a member of PBS?  That might give you a clue as to whether they're fairly new and all their books got requested right away (don't we wish that would happen) or they've been around a long time, are now tired of PBS or got all the books they want (never happen to me) and are now shutting down or maybe they just post WLd books and they get snapped up right away.

Needless to say though that given the info you've provided you'll probably not get the book.  Pat

You still might get this, though.  I hope so!  Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

You never know.  I had one a week or two back that was posted and then sat there for 3 or 4 days before the other member accepted even though I had it on auto-request and the system accepted it 1 hr after they posted it.

I saw the other member had it on their WL too so I was worried it wouldn't get accepted and mailed.  It did get accepted and then mailed and actually arrived today.  I was pretty sure it'd get cancelled though.

Does it say 0 for WL and bookshelf or a slash? Slashes mean that they have it set to private and only get orders and WL books through FIFO.  There's probably more members out there that never set up a profile than ones that do.

Well since your my good buddy this week.  I'd have to say a snowballs chance.

So quick move away from me (as I am the bad luck fairy this week)  and then just maybe you'll see it.

Well here's hoping and sending good luck to you.

GOOD LUCK GOOD LUCK GOOD LUCK

You never know.

I don't have my profile public, have only about 11 WL'd books, and no bookshelf.

But I posted 48 books last week, 45 of them WL'd, so only about 10 showed up to the general population. About three of those FIFO books were taken in a couple of days. Then I pulled anything that hadn't been ordered.

(Company coming, and I just spent all my postage money for a while. Not enough on the Bookshelf to bother holding them, removing was simpler.)

And I hadn't had anything on my shelf for many months.

Lots of people only WL'd books. I did respond and send mine out quickly to be done before company arrived, but maybe they're waiting to see if they can hit just one P.O. run if they have lots of WL orders due in?

All 20 books I posted were requested the same day. I'd never expected them to go that fast and learned the hard way to check books before I post them to see if they're waitlisted. Then I had to drain my spending money to get them mailed out on time.

Now I keep only one or two books on my shelf at a time. I don't bother with my profile simply because I don't like people knowing a bunch about me online. I dealt with an online stalker/harrasser years ago and once was enough for me.

Checked to see how long he was a member and that information isn't available.  Everytime I click his name all I get is the "Member has no books posted" message.

The request runs out tonight.

Que Sara Sara; I've got plenty of other books to read.
