This is a very interesting and informative book that contains all types of "Exercise Testings" involving the medical fields. It breaks down different tests that a doctor can perform to find other health issues.
One example is the Treadmill Test Protocols. This section explains the different types of tests such as the Bruce protocol where it involves a change of speed and grade every three minutes. This section also breaks down the parts or sections of it, the pros and cons and what to expect.
Another section is in regards to the "Preparation For ECG (electrocardiographic) Monitoring. Here, it explains what an ECG is, what is needed to make it work properly, instructions for the patient before testing, test sequence and measurements, plus alot more.
There is also a section specifically fpr Cardia Patients. It explains the types of cardiac patients, risk stratification, inpatient exercise programs (such as supervised ambulatory therapy), inpatient exercise prescription methods, discharge planning and more involving all types of cardiac conditions.
From there, you get into "Methods for Changing Health Behaviors", "Program Administration", Program Personnel", How to become certified & the types of certifications available in these Exercise Programs in order to perform them on patients.
These last couple of sections involve "Medications Relative to Exercise Training and Testing", Informed Consents, and "Metabolic Calculations".
As you can see, you receive alot of valuable information here. If you have ever had questions about different types of testings this is a book you need. It doesn't get into every kind of testing available but the most common ones it seems.
