I discovered the first book then had to find all of them..read them back to back..One of my new favorite writers.
This is well written..it is a bit on the hard language side..but it makes the book real..I give the intire books to date a thumbs up.

This is the fourth book of Ben Rehder's I've read. I enjoyed the first three -- being a Texas native, I get a kick out of reading books that take place in places that I know about. They take a fun poke at hunters and red-necks and the law enforcement that have to deal with them while spinning a good yarn about a crime spree. The storylines and tongue-in-cheek prose were fun and I always enjoy the play on words that Ben Rehder loves to throw in. You become friends with John Marlin the county game warden, Bobby Garza the county sheriff and shake your head over the antics of the local inept poachers Red O'Brien and Billy Don Craddock.
This one went down a smutty road that I did not enjoy -- if you like sexual depravity, drugs and the gutter -- dive on in. For me, I tossed it out somewhere around the fifth chapter and hope the next installment will be more of the good clean fun I've come to expect from Ben.
