I picked up The Guru in You because its author, Cameron Alborzian, seemed so healthy, fit, and poised on his Dr Oz show appearance. Retiring from modeling in high fashion (and a Madonna music video), Alborzian went on to study yoga and Ayurvedic medicine. His book is not one to read through, but a blueprint for starting one's spiritual practice. He urges readers to pause after each chapter to practice certain exercises introduced therein. The Guru in You spends a lot of time laying the mental groundwork for such a practice, and relatively little time on specific yoga postures and the tenets of Ayurvedic medicine. It's a big-picture type of book. Although I found it was a bit hokey for him to refer to himself as "Yogi Cameron" and that he writes in the slightly verbose way one adopts when trying to be more formal than usual, I think this book would be useful for an absolute beginner to follow through.
