Hello Fellow Teachers!

What a great site we have here!  I have found it invaluable for finding books for my classroom.

I am asking for help with a major project--if anyone has a copy of "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult they are willing to part with, please post it; I am trying to get a classroom set so I can teach the novel to my 10th graders ASAP.  Any help with this would be more than greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Charlotte Hillis

English II Instructor

McMinnville, TN

Charlotte, have done a search recently?  There are at least 2 copies in the system right now, one paperback, one hardback.  Good luck with getting that class set. :-)

I just listed a copy.

I teach English II as well.  I'm in North Carolina.  Our 10th grade curriculum is World Literature, so this book wouldn't work for me, but I'm jealous that you'll be able to teach it!

Have you checked with the library?  Lots of times they buy multiple copies of very popular books or multiples to put out for summer reading lists.  Has it ever been on a summer reading list from another school in your area?  They might even bend the borrowing rule and let you have the copies for a longer period of time.  I worked in a public library and lots of teachers asked for our help.  We would have liked more of them to tap into our resources.  That's what we are there to do.....help the public!
