I've been thinking of this book for days, but I cannot remember the author or the title. It's a contemporary western romantic suspence. A single mother moves west with her son and buys a diner. She wants to create the old time feel and has the wait staff wear dresses. She meets a rancher and his friend at the diner. She and the rancher strike up a friendship that turns into more eventually. The rancher is beholden to a father figure and feels he needs to marry said father-figure's model daughter. There are some environemental issues going on and the diner owner sets up a command post of sorts in the back room to fight the bad guy environmentalist. She gets attacked in the diner in the dress and after that decides jeans and t-shirts are okay. Towards the end of the book she is on a forum online while she is attacked in her home.
I'm sure this is very vague, but that's what I remember. Thanks for helping.
