Went to a garage sale, there were 12 boxes of paperbacks(3 for $1)  Picked out a couple, asked the gal running if she'd be interesting in selling the entire lot towards the end of the sale.  She said sure, come back just before closing.  So I ended up with 9 boxes of ROMANCES(which I don't read), each box containing 38-63 books each for $50.    I am not computer savvy enough to make a separate list here on PBS, so any suggestions on what to do besides listing them all on my bookshelf.  Pulled a few, all excellent shape, copyrighted between 1978 and 2009.

I think you should list them and maybe then offer a deal in the Bazaar as they could well turn out to be books someone has been waiting or looking for.  I'd sure be interested in looking.

Yes, just start punching in ISBNs and listing them. If there's some oldies, chances are there's at least a few on my wishlist! Wish I was there to help you out.

Maybe rather than listing all 500, you could break them down by author. I know I'd be interested in anything by:

Joan Smith

Georgette Heyer

Marion Chesney

Rebecca Danton

and maybe even Elizabeth Mansfield

it might just be easier...then you can deal with numbers (e.g. 5 Joan Smiths and 3 Marion Chesney's for xxx points.)

List them. Chances are that there will be several WLed books in there and if you offer deals on them, people may find some they are looking for. :):)

If you don't feel like listing all of them (I can't blame you, that's a lot of books) you could group them in lots of (size of your choosing), turn them all onto their spines so you can read the titles, snap pictures, and sell them on the Bazaar in lots. You'd probably ultimately end up getting more credits out of it if you listed each of them individually but I don't know how much time you have on your hands for listing and mailing.

Look into a cue cat. It is a cheap barcode scanner.  I got one and it is great for listing large numbers of books. I use mine in streaks when I am clearing shelves or do something like you just did. I have picked up a bunch on Craigslist that I am listing as I get time.

List the books on your shelf, offer a deal and then sell the credits. Make sure your deals are for more than one credit.

You will end up covering the cost of the postage plus the books, if you do that.

Yes, its a lot of work.

Are the boxes sorted in any order like types of books? Are there any Love Inspired? Any Harlequin Intrigue? These are my favorites and if listed in a really good deal, I would definitedly check you out.

The way I figured it, you would need 25 credits plus what ever the shipping cost is to come out even at $2.50 a credit. I figured that if you had an average of 40 books per box you could offer

14/1 and break even just on the cost of the books so if you offered a deal such as 7/1 you would make up the cost of the shipping also by getting at least 51 credits..... WOW. You could enter them into

an excel spread sheet and copy and paste in a deal without listing one by one on your shelf. Do this one box at a time. Just be sure to let me know when you list it!

Definitely list them...even if you only list 20 books a day!  Offer a deal here in the Bazaar.  I don't read romances myself, but my mom likes them and I may order some for her.

You might put them up by groups of author and or series. If there is a series like Harlequin Romance or Blaze group them together and offer a deal on the Bazaar. If there's a bunch by say Nora Roberts, group and do the same.
