I just finished Handling the Undead, the new zombie novel from John Ajvide Lindqvist (the author of Let the Right One In).  LTROI was a brilliant, eerie, disturbing, original and haunting vampire story, and was unlike any of the overdone vampire novels I've encountered recently, so  I was very much looking forward to Handling the Undead.

It was good, very subdued and subtle.  The zombies weren't violent, it was more about the impact on the living of having your loved ones come back.  It was also very eerie and unsettling, like LTROI, but unlike that one, I thought the ending was a total fizzle.

So those are my thoughts. Anyone else read or plan to read it?

I have it on my WL, but I'll probably break down and buy a copy before Thanksgiving.

I couldn't wait for my turn on WL so I borrowed it from my library.  I enjoyed it (and am currently waiting on Let the Right One In) but I agree with you . . . the ending was just not up to snuff.

Non violent Zombies?  I shudder at the thought!  LOL!
